Pete Smith (Chief Instructor/Event Co-ordinator)
Pete has been working on LoT days since the club started and for the last 3 years has been our main point of contact at all UK events. As a day job Pete has an IT consultancy business which allows him to free up the time to attend all of our UK events.
Pete has been an ARDS instructor since 2001 and worked at various race schools (e.g. Everyman, Johnny Herbert school, BMW Performance Driving Centre) as well as TDO's and for the last 5 years has also worked for Car Limits.
Pete started racing karts more years ago than he dare to remember before moving on to racing Legends where he had a lot of success. With over 150 race starts, numerous podiums and his fair share of wins.
His race highlights include winning the 2001 Indycar support race at Lausitzring, Germany. In 2002 he won the Rockingham Trophy (ASCAR support) and his race career peaked in 2002 when he finished 4th at Legends World Finals in the USA. He's run in a few other race series since then when time and funds allow.
You may have also seen Pete taking part in the Top Gear driving show and at demonstrations at Autosport show. |
