Pete Smith (Chief Instructor/Event Co-ordinator)
 

Pete has been working on LoT days since the club started and for the last 3 years has been our main point of contact at all UK events. As a day job Pete has an IT consultancy business which allows him to free up the time to attend all of our UK events.

 

Pete has been an ARDS instructor since 2001 and worked at various race schools (e.g. Everyman, Johnny Herbert school, BMW Performance Driving Centre) as well as TDO's and for the last 5 years has also worked for Car Limits.

 

Pete started racing karts more years ago than he dare to remember before moving on to racing Legends where he had a lot of success. With over 150 race starts, numerous podiums and his fair share of wins.

 

His race highlights include winning the 2001 Indycar support race at Lausitzring, Germany. In 2002 he won the  Rockingham Trophy (ASCAR support) and his race career peaked in 2002 when he finished 4th at Legends World Finals in the USA. He's run in a few other race series since then when time and funds allow.

 

You may have also seen Pete taking part in the Top Gear driving show and at demonstrations at Autosport show.

 
 

Malcom Edeson (Chief Instructor)

Malcolm has been training race drivers since 1991 and is a grade A ARDS instructor, the highest instructor grade. He trained at the world renowned Jim Russell school in the UK back in 1991 and spent the next 5 years working for them as an instructor, mostly on their 7 day race driver course. Now days Malcolm spends most of his time providing private coaching to race and track day drivers across the World including a lot of recent work in the Middle East. In between the coaching work Malcolm can be found ever present instructing on LoT days.

Malcolm is a multiple race winner in many different series, having won his class in the Britcar 24 hour and has raced in the Nurburgring 24Hr race on the mighty Nordschleife.

 
 

 
Jamie Stanley (Chief Instructor)

Jamie is a full time professional coach who has worked for LoT for the last 4 years.

He can be found at circuits across the UK and into Europe each day of the week be it working for Motorsport Vision, the UK’s largest circuit owner or clubs and track day organisers such as LoT.

Jamie is a specialist Lotus Elise and Caterham instructor and has many Elise Trophy race wins under his belt. More recently Jamie has raced a Ferrari F430 GT3 with Rob Barff.

Jamie is ever present on LoT track days as well as Elise Trophy race meetings where he is able to provide race coaching in addition to his track day work.

 
 

 
Mark Woodhead

Mark started racing over ten years ago in a Mini Cooper that he prepped himself. In 2002 he obtained his ARDS instructing license and has since worked for numerous circuits and experience companies.

In 2004 Mark started instructing on LoT days and he now attends the vast majority of our UK events. Most of his instructing work now comes from LoT, Caterham and Everyman driving experiences.
 
 

 
Darren Burke

Darren has spent most of his life at race and karting circuits. Based in Kent Darren was the Buckmore Park karting champion back in 1998, in 2001 Darren won the national 'Champion of the Future' championship and received recognition from the MSA of his potential ability for the future. In 2004 Darren moved on to race in Formula Fords and has finished 2nd and 4th in the FF Festival. Currently Darren is racing in Historic Formula Fords.

Having been a grade A ARDS instructor for some years now Darren can be found at circuits each day of the week, in particular Brands Hatch. He also works for Car Limits.

 
 

 

Stewart Croucher

Having started racing in 2004 Stewart gained his ARDS instructors licence in 2005 and has been working for many race schools and track day companies including Lotus on Track ever since. For LoT Stewart has spent the last couple of years instructing on our French days and has gained extensive knowledge many circuits. 

Stewart is currently competing in a family run Fiesta in the Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championship. 

Stewart fits all of this around his full time job as a Specialist Occupational Therapist for the NHS.

 

We also recommend members attend a day with Car Limits who's owner Andrew Walsh is a consultant to Lotus on Track and instructs on our overseas days.
