We’re returning to the wonderful Bilster Berg after our 5 fantastic visits in 2016/17/19/20/22. As with the last few years we’ve been able to organise a Saturday evening.
Note: This event is being run on Saturday afternoon/evening: 2pm-6pm – so 4 hours of open pit lane track time against an average of 7hrs on most days.
Modelled on the likes of the Ascari Resort in Spain, the entire circuit has been designed from scratch by Hermann Tilke, the industry’s most experienced circuit architect. He is best known for renowned F1 circuits such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Malaysia, Istanbul, Shanghai and has now turned his hand to creating a New Nürburgring, “The natural ‘Nordschleife flair’ with high safety standards will continue to enthuse every driver. With various ideal lines, the corners allow for approximately identical lap times, while nature itself dictates the unmistakable signature of the test track.”
It is not only the very special scenic-park-like ambiance which makes Bilster Berg so unique. The 4.2 kilometres long track has 19 bends, 44 crests and dips, more than 200 meters change in altitude and declines up to 26%. It truly is one of the great circuits in Europe.

Noise limit: 101db static & 98db drive by *
Statistischer Test: Ein db-Messgerät wird in einem 45 Gradwinkel und einer Entfernung von 50 cm von dem Auspuff aufgestellt. Gemessen wird bei ¾ der Maximaldrehzahl. Der höchste db-Wert der bei dieser Messung entsteht ist der Wert für den Tag. Ein statistisches Limit von 105db ist relativ hoch und wird deshalb von den meisten Autos nicht erreicht. Bei einem originalen Auspuff am Fahrzeug werden 98 db im Normalfall eingehalten. Diejenigen mit einem sehr lauten Auspuff müssen aufpassen.
Vorbeifahrt: Es wird beim Fahren an der Strecke der db-Wert gemessen. Das Messgerät kann direkt an der Strecke stehen, kann aber auch einen Abstand von 20 Metern haben. Autos mit Kompressor haben in der Regel größere Probleme, auch wenn sie den statistischen Test bestanden haben. Die Autos mit Turbolader und Klimaanlage haben keine Probleme mit den statistischen Test, weil diese erst im oberen Drehzahl-Bereich laut werden. Bei der Messung auf der Strecke gibt es viele Faktoren, die eine Messung beeinflussen - wie zum Beispiel: Temperatur, Windrichtung und Geschwingkeit; auch der Zustand der Strecke und die Höhe der Wolkendecke können die Messung beeinflussen.

Fortgeschrittener: Hat bei mehreren Open Pit Lane Trackdays bei verscheidenen Strecken teilgenommen

* Nehmen Sie an einem Briefing teil, bevor die offiziellen Proberunden beginnen

Crash helmets must be in good condition and suitable for circuit driving in a car. (Convertible/flip-up helmets are not permitted)
ANY vehicle without a hard top or fixed roof will require occupants to wear full face helmets.
Alcohol must not be consumed, including at lunch time.

All drivers must be 21 – 75 years old (2nd drivers 21 – 70).
Passengers:
LoT club members may have up to 3 passengers free of charge.
Additional passengers or those with non-members will be charged £10 each.
Passengers must be 18-75 years old, no exceptions.

Final instructions will be emailed out 4 days before the event.
Due to the nature of the day we can’t accept anyone who holds a current race licence.
* road legal cars with cat should have no issue with noise. The circuit operate a transponder system to identify cars – we have discussed noise at the end of all 4 previous days at BB and there have been no concerns over our return. However, we will keep the number of cars low & control their type. Noise operates on a bucket system – so less cars means less noise – similar to Zandvoort.
