T&C’s – Section 20 Cage Rules – History

1/9/2019 – 31/1/2021: Caterham type vehicles must be fitted with a full 6 point approved roll-cage, unless prior approval is given in writing by Paul Golding. All other non-Lotus cars that have a soft top or open top must be fitted with an approved Roll Over Protection system(ROPs) as a minimum. All cars regardless of manufacturer registered before 1995 must have a full 6 point approved roll-cage. All cars that are registered after 1995, with the exception of Lotus, VX220/Speedster, Porsche & Ferrari must be fitted with a full 6 point approved roll-cage, unless prior approval is given in writing by Paul Golding.

To be clear this isn’t the case at all circuits, especially the smaller circuits but it is the default position unless prior approval is given in writing before the event is booked – we do not want to be in a position of sending someone home so PLEASE check first. No exemptions will be given for Spa, Dijon, Le Mans & Zandvoort, if you have a Caterham/Westfield at these venues you will need to have a full roll-cage.

Bookings taken before 30/8/2019 will need to meet the previously advertised conditions: Caterham type vehicles must be fitted with an FIA/Motorsport UK/FFSA/RACB approved Roll Over Protection system(ROPs), although we recommend a full FIA approved roll-cage. All other non-Lotus cars that have a soft top or open top must be fitted with an approved Roll Over Protection system(ROPs). All cars regardless of manufacturer registered before 1995 must have an half or full roll-cage. At Spa Francorchamps, Dijon Prenois, Le Mans, Bilster Berg & Zandvoort a full approved roll-cage is required on all cars with the exception of Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari that have been registered after 1995. To be clear if you would like to drive Spa with a Caterham/Westfield you must have a full roll-cage.
